Beautiful rag doll carefully stitched and made fine detail. The doll depicts an indigenous woman of the Andes wearing her traditional clothes. The traditional attire belongs to the ancient Chinchero District in Peru, a place inhabited by indigenous citizen of Quechua descent. The country woman is breastfeeding a baby also know as "wawa" wrapped in a blanket ; a custom performed to protect and assure a good sleep for the babies that comes from many years ago and is transmitted to new generations. At the same time she is holding a basket with native potatoes, a tuber cultivated in high-altitudes soils that has an important cultural significance.
